STATION 5 - Groundbreaking

On a beautiful but cool morning members of Nokesville Vol Fire and Rescue Dept., Prince William County Board of Supervisors, Prince William County Dept of Fire Rescue and Prince William County Public Works gathered to hold the official groundbreaking of the new Fire Station 5.

Crews Battle 20 Hour Long Outside Fire

Mark Engman, April 06

At 1636hrs Box 2552 was struck for a outside fire sending Brush 525 and Engine 525 to the 7800 block of Piney Branch Lane.

At 1716hrs crews on scene reported that the fire had jumped the road and ignited the large mulch piles located at the Prince William County Yard Waste Compost Facility. Ongoing Training

On March 31st crews from our Station 5 and 25 came together to have some fun, oh wait I mean train with our new HURST tools (Jaws of Life). When we placed our new Tower 525 in service we switched over from hydraulic powered Jaws of Life to the newest technology using battery powered Jaws of Life. Much easier to maneuver around and operate these tools are a welcome addition.

No Caption New Fire Station 5 Groundbreaking Ceremony Scheduled

April 11th at 10am the official groundbreaking ceremony will take place next to the current Fire Station 5. Senior leadership of Nokesville VFD have been working tirelessly for 2 years to reach this point. The current station was built in 1963 and received a renovation in the mid-80s.

Large Brush Fire Contained

At 1:45pm on March 10th units from Nokesville Volunteer Station 5 along with our volunteer crews at Station 25 were dispatched to a outside fire in the 12400 block of Parkgate Dr. Nokesville VA.

Engine 505 and Brush 505 arrived on scene and were confronted with a fast moving grass fire encroaching on a century old barn. Crews were able to stop the fire just a few feet away from this historic barn. ... (Full Story & Photos)
